Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

10 Great Valentine's Gift Ideas

Valentine’s Day is the international day for expressing love. It is celebrated annually on the 14th of February and sees loved-up couples in the UK and around the world spending the day in each other’s company and treating each other to special gifts. The tradition can be traced back to France in the 1400’s, were the first valentines letter was thought to be written from a Duke to his imprisoned wife in the Tower of London. Romantic periods followed with the spread of poetry and love stories and these days are an endless selection of romantic gifts that can be bought online and delivered for to the day to make it a special occasion. It’s known as the most depressing day and the most romantic day of the year! So why not make it a memorable day for someone with one of these 10 gifts for Valentine’s Day. Valentines Gifts

  1. Flowers are a must on Valentine’s Day and giving roses is a great way of saying ‘I love you.’ Different roses say different things; for example, red roses say just that, or a white rose expresses ‘eternal love’ for a deeper meaning. Or, how about giving a bunch of pink roses, to express your ‘perfect happiness?’ Whatever flower you pick, having them wrapped specially for the day will make all the difference and, if bought online, there are companies throughout the UK who specialise in the preparation and delivery of flowers to make sure they’re delivered in time for the special day.

  2. Soft toys make for great presents on Valentine’s Day, so why not surprise your valentine with a cute gift boxed teddy, complete with a rose that says ‘I love you’ in a simple way. It can be kept for years to come as a reminder of how special the day was.

  3. A box of chocolates is a fantastic gift for Valentine’s Day and come in all shapes and sizes, from cute teddy bears to heart shapes. Chocolates can be shared over days with friends and family or scoffed on the day! There are hundreds of companies in the UK and worldwide that make chocolate, so there should never be a problem when searching for the perfect box to give as  gift.

  4. A Valentines gift basket is a great idea as a gift as it contains a cute little selection of chocolates and a bottle of wine that can be presented to your valentine on the day and enjoyed together.

  5. For a really adorable mini gift, a small pink cupid’s cushion cannot be beaten, especially with a button to help it glow red, white and pink. It may be cliché but that’s what Valentine’s Day is all about!

  6. Jewellery is a very popular Valentine’s Day gift that can be enjoyed and shown off for years to come. There’s even the option to have it personalised and there are companies across the UK that can inscribe names, dates and phrases to make it that extra special. It’s a great present for both sexes and jewellery such as watches and necklaces can last for a long time.

  7. DVDs, booksand CDs make for great, simple and affordable gifts that can be bought online and delivered in time for the day. How about a romantic film that you can enjoy together on the night? Or, alternatively, a CD by their favourite band or a book that they may have hinted that they’d like would go down a treat.

  8. Alcohol makes for a great present for any occasion and this Champagne gift set is the perfect gift that can be shared on the romantic day. Or, alternatively, why not treat your valentine to a bottle of their favourite drink if champagne isn’t their thing? Alcohol bought online often comes discounted and can be specially wrapped and delivered to ensure a safe arrival.

  9. For an extravagant idea for Valentine’s Day, how about organising a romantic weekend away? Paris is the world’s most romantic city, so a trip for a couple who are very much in love is a must. Nothing marks the occasion better than a visit to the Eiffel tower or lovely walk down the backstreets and it’s certainly one to be remembered forever. Or, for simple breaks in the UK, cities like Edinburgh or Dublin offer a huge range of activities to make it a memorable time.

  10. A romantic meal out is also a great idea as a present for Valentine’s Day. So why not book a table at their favourite restaurant as a nice surprise, or order in their favourite takeaway as a special treat? It’s always important to book ahead though, as Valentine’s Day is another popular day for restaurants. Anything given as a gift or organised with love and affection is sure to make your valentine feel loved.

Well, we hope that has given you some great gift ideas to think about.
