Wedding Gift Ideas

A wedding is the ceremony where of two people are united through saying vows, making promises and planning a life together. The world ‘wed’ comes from the Ancient Greek word for ‘pledge.’ Wedding traditions vary throughout the world in different cultures and different countries but in the UK it’s tradition to be married in a church with the bride in a white dress to symbolise her purity and the ceremony ending with a kiss between man and wife. Over 200,000 weddings take place every year in the UK and each one needs celebrating. It’s a well known fact that the wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, so it’s the perfect occasion for showering friends and family with the gifts they deserve and there’s no end to the list of wedding gift ideas to choose from.

Wedding Gifts

A great place to find wedding gifts is online. Thanks to the ever expanding internet you’ll never be stuck for finding the perfect wedding gift on hundreds of websites devoted to just that. Presents bought online can be delivered straight to the door for a small delivery cost and delivery within the UK is often very reasonable and worth the assurance that your wedding gift will be delivered on time. It’s also sometimes cheaper and easier to find gifts online than looking around the shops so it’s well worth doing your research beforehand. For example, alcohol is a great gift to find one and to give at any occasion but a wedding is perfect due to its element of celebration. No wedding is complete without its flowing champagne, so why not help the celebrations along with some bottles of Moet and Chandon champagneIt makes for a great present to give as a group. Or, alternatively you could go for some wedding champagne flutes, the perfect gift to raise a toast to the happy pair on their big day. It’s important to note the delivery specifications to ensure that glass bottles are delivered safely and intact. Or, how about a fancy wedding certificate holder, for showing off the certificate that will remind them of the happiest day of their life for many years to come.

Weddings can be very expensive for young couples so great ideas for wedding gifts include anything that can used during the marriage. Money is a great gift as it will help to no end during the early stages and can be spent on the honeymoon or saved for the new house. In fact, it’s quite common for families to treat the happy couple to an element of their honeymoon, such as a fancy meal or an upgrade to first class for the flight there. The gift could be wrapped in a fancy way to add an element of excitement or simply given as a cheque or voucher. Or for a humorous touch, how about treating them to a
wedding fund piggy bank? It’ll help them save their pennies for the big day and can be used for years to come. Kitchen utensils and items such as cutlery, plates and casserole dishes make for great wedding day presents which could be made use of and enjoyed for many years. There are expensive gifts too that families could chip in for to treat the newlyweds. For example, a fridge-freezer, double bed or a fancy kitchen table are must-haves in a new house and make for great group bought presents. As do expensive gadgets such as high definition televisions, video cameras and even laptops – all of which would be really appreciated and used throughout the marriage for years to come.

There are many roles within the wedding that friends and family play to help the day go smoothly. The gift of help is something worth thinking about as offering your services for being in charge of icing the cake, taking pictures or guiding guests to their seats will all make a big difference on the day. It is a tradition in the UK and around the world for the groom to choose a best man from the various ‘groomsman’ he has to act as chief attendant at the wedding. It’s an important role to have so a great wedding gift with a difference would be some nifty
best man cufflinks, to help him look as suave on the day as possible. Or if treating their family to gifts on the big day, how about a father of the groom hipflask to help him celebrate in style? Whatever wedding gift you choose, if it’s given with love and thought for the big day then the happy couple are sure to appreciate it.

Hope this helps and if you need a few more ideas you can always takle a look at the
